Are there any fees required to enter the competition?No, it’s totally free to participate.

Can my friend from a university abroad participate in this competition?The competition is only open to students currently enrolled in Malaysian universities and colleges, including international students in Malaysia.

What are the eligibility requirements for participants in The Stellar Prize (TSP)?Open to all students (including international students) currently enrolled in Malaysian universities and colleges; Open to both individual and group entries (Unlimited team size, a representative is required).

Is there a limit on the number of team members?There is no limit on the number of team members. It’s required to designate one representative to be the main person of contact throughout the competition.

When is the submission period?The submission period is 21st October 2024 (Monday, 12 PM MYT) - 31th March 2025 (Monday, 12 PM MYT).

Are there any restrictions on the themes or concepts for submissions?Yes, submissions must align with the theme established by The Stellar Prize organisers and should reflect creativity, originality, and artistic value. Please refer to the detailed rules for each category to avoid content in breach of competition regulations.

Can the same work be submitted to different categories?Yes, as long as it meets the criteria for each category.

Can I participate in the same sub-category multiple times?Yes, you may submit different works within the same sub-category. For example, under the Photography Category, you could submit different pieces to the Best Portrait Photo sub-category.

Can I submit a work that I’ve previously displayed on social media or in other competitions?No, all entries must be original works that have not been previously exhibited, published, or submitted to other competitions or social media. This will result in disqualification.

What should I do if my submission includes other people or recognizable faces?If your work includes recognizable individuals, you must obtain their permission to avoid potential issues with privacy and publicity rights. You are responsible for ensuring that all individuals depicted have agreed to be included in your submission.

What is an Artist’s Statement?This is a personal reflection by the artist, not exceeding 250 words, describing the inspiration, process, and meaning behind their creative journey. It should give the viewer insight into the artist’s motivations, intentions, and unique perspective.

What is an Artwork Description?This is a concise description of the specific artwork, not exceeding 200 words. It should focus on the visual details, materials, and techniques used, as well as any specific message or story that the artwork conveys. This description should help viewers understand the context and significance of the piece itself.

What is the maximum acceptable file size for each submission?The maximum file size varies by category. We recommend that participants complete the submission Google Form in advance, where the specific file size limitations for each category will be indicated in the submission section.

Is it mandatory to have an advisor for the submitted work?No, having an advisor is not mandatory. However, if you do have an advisor, you are recommended to nominate them for the Best Advisor Award

Can entries be submitted after the deadline if there are technical issues?No, late entries will be not accepted under any circumstances, even in the case of technical difficulties. Take note of the submission deadline and submit in advance. Refer to the TSP website for any potential updates or changes.

Can I edit or update my submission after sending it?No, you are not allowed to edit or update your submission after it’s been sent.

How do I confirm that my submission has been received?Once you submit your entry through the Google Form, you will receive a copy of your submission within 48 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us via @thestellarprize@outlook.com or direct message on our official Instagram page.

How will winners of the "Most Popular" awards be chosen?All submissions for the "Most Popular" awards will be posted on The Stellar Prize's official Instagram account. The TSP committee will calculate votes based on the total number of likes received. The most liked submission will be the winner.

Will feedback be provided on my submission?No feedback or markings would be released. It would only be referenced by the TSP committee.

How will I know if I have been shortlisted?You will be notified via email if you have been shortlisted. The TSP official Instagram account will also update the list of nominees. Please take note of the nominee release date on 23rd February 2025 (Sunday) (subject to changes).

What happens if my submission is found to violate the rules after it’s been shortlisted or awarded?If contestants’ submissions are found to violate the rules after it’s been shortlisted or awarded, their entry and eligibility will be withdrawn. The TSP committee would inform contestants via email if this issue were to happen. TSP reserves the right to disqualify any works in breach of the competition rules.

What is the dress code for attending the awards ceremony?To maintain the formality and elegance of the event, all attendees and participants are required to wear formal attire (such as suits, evening gowns, etc.).
